Passat B6 2.0 Common Rail 2010 how to check fuel injectors for reverse fuel supply using the YATO YT-7306 diesel injector leak tester

Important: the procedure also includes the preliminary stage of measuring the pressure of the nozzles. By default, the engine control computer activates the injectors if the pressure in the ramp is at least 130 bar. In our case, the pressure readings at the start of the starter barely reached 120 bar . So there is a problem of pressure loss.

To check fuel return nozzles, we use the YATO YT-7306 diesel injector tightness tester:

We check the fuel return nozzles as follows:

1. Remove the "minus" terminal of the battery, and disconnect the power supply wires.

2. We connect the fuel pipes of the device to the nozzles.

3. Clamp the fitting with pliers with a clamp.

4. Scroll the starter for 10-15 seconds . In the process, we take into account the form of "injection" under which the fuel is supplied, as well as the amount of fuel in the glasses.

5. Carefully remove all hoses and analyze the results.

In our case, the 2nd injector needs restoration. The 1st and 3rd injectors require additional testing on a high-precision stand:

1 injector: Not very good. Drains too much fuel when starting the engine (such a volume of fuel the injector should drain during engine operation). In other words, "it is possible, but it is better to do it."

2 injector: Bad. It kills the fuel pressure on the return supply. This is a problem of poor starting and incorrect operation of the engine.

3 nozzle: Not very good. Drains too much fuel when starting the engine (such a volume of fuel the injector should drain during engine operation). In other words, "maybe, but it's better to do"

4 nozzle: OK. Shows a good result. Praise her and move on to further work))

And this is an example of normal draining of fuel injectors, thank you BRS service center for the video.
