But there are cases that attract attention, when you wonder how it happened and just stop and look, because you haven't seen it yet)))
This is the copy that they started to repair, but they forgot about it a little, for about 3 years)))

The valve plate broke off and in tandem with the piston they crushed everything they could in the cylinder.


The quality of the photo is poor, but you can see how part of the connecting rod was torn off. Even the color has changed from long-term use with the liners turned.

Upper compression rings of the first and second cylinders, wear should be uniform, but subject to proper maintenance. In this case, the cause turned out to be the nozzles, which frantically overflowed and washed away all the remaining oil on the cylinder walls.

When the engine collects oil and throws it into the exhaust tract))) The reason was the coked rings of the third row, which remove excess oil from the cylinder walls: 'Oil scraper rings'.

- Camshaft, - Hydraulic compensators, which is insufficient oil pressure in the engine lubrication system. The reason was the oil pump.

If a cracked heat exchanger leaks, the sealant will not save, but there were attempts)))

This malfunction does not look so epic, but an incomparable amount of nerves was spent by the owner, and when he saw the reason why his car, from time to time, lost power and "spitted" gray smoke, scaring everyone around, he was simply speechless. Little things almost always precede big troubles. The reason is a pebble that did not always allow the exhaust gas valve of the EGR system to close, and part of the exhaust gas entered the intake tract, which radically changed the ratio of the fuel mixture and led to a loss of power, smoke and poor engine start.

The valve burned out, nothing surprising, but how long has the car been operated in this condition... Not one hundred kilometers.

Another "burnout" between the cylinders, the problem is that the owner came only when the engine did not start in the morning, and drove like that for quite a long time. We have not finally established the reason. But they found out that the engine was repaired 1 year ago, and they assumed that mistakes were made, but they did not start to find out anything.
