This technology (Paintless Dent Repair) was developed (used publicly during an international exhibition) by Mercedes-Benz specialists in the 1950s and was used to correct defects that may appear on the car body when assembled at the factory, at transportation to the cabin, or in the cabin. Subsequently, the technology of removing dents without painting has spread around the world.
The essence of the technology is the work of a craftsman who, with a hand tool, gradually squeezes the dent from the inside to the initial level, gaining access to it through technological openings in the car body.
In fact, the development of technology for such removal of dents is provided by the high quality of modern paints and varnishes used by manufacturers in the manufacture of the car.
In most cases, after such repairs, it is impossible or very difficult to find a damaged place on the body.
The technology of leveling dents without painting is focused primarily on the restoration of the car body in the event that the paint is not damaged at the site of repair. Although PDR technology is often used in cases with minor damage to the varnish (scratches) and subsequent polishing, or even if the paint is damaged so much that you still have to paint, the use of PDR technology allows you to ensure a minimum layer of putty during subsequent painting.
