With the active pedestrian protection system, the hood rises when the car collides with a pedestrian. Sensors under the bumper work to detect an impact.
Important: do not touch the actuating mechanisms of the hood hinges and locks, otherwise the system may operate unintentionally and cause injury.
The active hood is only activated in the speed range between approx. 20 km/h and 55 km/h.
For safety reasons, in some cases, the system can also be triggered in situations where it is impossible to clearly recognize a collision with a pedestrian, for example:

1. Pull and hold the lever:

2. Press and hold the release lever:

3. Fully open the hood and push to the final position:

4. Make sure that when the hood is pressed into the final position for a long time, the actuator is completely closed and locked in the hinge area on both sides.

5. To close the hood again, lower it from a height of approx. 40 cm and click on it.
