Audi A6 C6 how to replace rear brake pads with VCDS. Collection of codings VAG Group

Now almost all new Audi and Volkswagen cars are equipped with Electronic Parking Brake. In this system, electric motors installed in the rear brake calipers are used to drive the rear pads instead of the usual cable. The specificity is that the replacement of brake pads is impossible without unlocking the pistons of the calipers. For this EPB unit, the motor activation command must be issued.

 

 

The procedure is performed as follows:

 

 

1. Divide the pistons.

 

 

2. Raise the car, remove the rear wheels, do not turn on the handbrake, turn on the ignition.

 

 

3. Connect VODS:

 

 

• Choose the Address of block 53 Handbrake;
• Select function 04 Basic settings;
• Open channel 07 ;
• Press Go1 .

 

 

4. Change the brake pads for new ones.

 

 

5. Return the pistons to the working position:

 

 

• Choose the Address of block 53 Handbrake;
• Select function 04 Basic settings;
• Open channel 10 ;
• Press "GO ".

 

 

6. Move the pistons with the new pads to the working position. Turn the ignition off and on. The indicator light should flash. We press the brakes, the towel button, and then the light goes out.

 

7. Carry out adaptation of a hand brake:

 

 

• Choose the Address of block 53 Handbrake;
• Select function 04 Basic settings;
• Open channel 10 ;
• Press "GO ".
